The Euro Draft Pipe Bomb

I've missed doing creative titles for my latest editions. Now that the finals are over, I can go back to making wacky titles. Now I get to combined two most important things I'm into right now in the sports or entertainment world which is the Euro Cup and professional wrestling. Now I've ranted in the past defending wrestling so I'm not going to do that but I'll answer a question that people ask me that don't understand the concept. I've been asked if I consider wrestling a sport and believe it or not, I really don't. If you want to call it a sport then I won't argue you that because they are athletic and bouncing around. It comes down to it truly being a juggernaut between it being a sport or entertainment. You can call it whatever but I'll refer it more to my soap opera. So thats the answer to the people that don't understand or truly hate the concept. I'm still going to talk about it because this is my blog and last time I checked, my interests are something I keep strong to me

Now I'm going to get into quickly but just for a quick preview here it is. The Euro Cup is still going strong going into the final and I'm pretty excited. I've gotten over the heartbreak of Croatia being eliminated and I'm doing well with the crazy world of sports. I'm also going to talk about the NBA draft and break down each team. It may seem long but I'm not going to go overboard. It will just be a recap and I'll even give a draft grade which will be based on where the team picks. I know teams like the Knicks and Nets draft in the late 2nd round so I'm going to grade them based on that pick. It will be based on how they fill a need or possibly get a future all star. The other topic will be wrestling and based on the title, when you hear the word pipe bomb only one man comes to mind. The one year anniversary of CM Punk's shoot promo happened on Wednesday. I'm going to break down my favorite parts of the promo even though everything was great. This is another full sports edition with some entertainment, so calm down wrestling haters I made sure to include entertainment! Now don't give me s*** in public about making it seem like a sport.

Euro Cup Semifinals
The Italian prodigy finally steps up

Spain 0 (4) Portugal 0 (2)-  I didn't watch the game and based on many reactions towards it, I wasn't going to tune in. Many people called it the worst game of the tournament which doesn't surprise me. Spain isn't the same team from 2008 that will overload with goals unless there playing a complete pushover like Ireland. Spain needs a healthy and in form duo of Fernando Torres and David Villa to get back to their 2 to 4 goal scoring ways. They have now gotten into the style of being very possessive but that style wouldn't work against a top defensive like Portugal. Portugal's defense has been a big surprise this tournament and they proved it once again really limiting Spain for the first 90 minutes. Pepe and Bruno Alves have been a great duo while Fabio Coentrao has been as good as advertised. It wasn't until overtime when Spain really started pressing and forcing Rui Patricio into making top saves. Iniesta had the best opportunity out of them all but it was a really top save by Patricio. Portugal seemed to be right up to par with Spain but they never really seemed to threaten Casillas. Even when Portugal would go on some nice counters, it would end with a great tackle by Ramos or Pique. Another big story was obviously Cristiano Ronaldo having a poor game for his standards. He was getting harassed like everyone expected and he never looked like scoring. Spain was the rightful winner at the end and similar to Italy, you had that feeling that Spain would pull through with Iker Casillas in the net. It was cool to see defenders taking penalties with Pique scoring and Sergio Ramos making the highlight reel with his creative penalty. Portugal will probably regret using Bruno Alves after striking the bar. I still don't like the idea of Ronaldo going 5th. If you want to use your star, I'd say use him 3rd or 4th just to make sure he's used. It was pretty poor managing and it has come back to haunt them. Its hard to pick a man of the match but I really saw a lot from Sergio Ramos. He's playing out of position at center back and he's doing an outstanding job there. He breaks up attacks and still makes runs in attack. Ever since drawing Italy, Spain hasn't missed Carlos Puyol.

Italy 2 Germany 1-  This was the upset of the tournament for me. Italy has gone from a team that people were picking as a favorite to be upset in group stage and not make it through to in the European championship. This was an impressive performance by Italy with break out performances all around. The German defense was always considered a bit too young and they were exposed today. They were lucky it was only two because it could have easily been four. Italy really missed some good chance at the end and it made too close to comfort at the end. Germany seemed to be in control early on but Italy really spread out the field. That led to Andrea Pirlo who has easily been Italy's best player this tournament dictate the pace of the game. Then Daniele De Rossi would win every ball to stop Germany's attack. Italy's midfield won has been top notch all tournament and it didn't change today. Buffon was still called on to make some saves. Marco Reus and Sami Khredia really made Buffon work in testing Buffon who is still the best goalie in the world. The saves that he makes for his age are remarkable and it has given Italy a major boost in this tournament. The main story was obviously Mario Balotelli having a break out game. We have been waiting all tournament for Balotelli to really break out and be the main star of the game. He showed some quality against Croatia and England while scoring a great goal against Ireland but he hasn't really performed well in the tournament. That all changed with a perfect header off great work from Antonio Cassano. Cassano has been poor so far in the tournament and played much better looking very lively on the ball. Badstuber was having a really poor game and things got even worse when Balotelli was found again and struck it beautifully in the back of the net. It was becoming the Balotelli show and Germany's young back four looked lost. Germany began to press but it wasn't enough in the end. An obvious handball on Italy gave them a goal but Germany looked flustered most of the game and Italy did a great job defending. Even though they are mostly young, they looked very composed and never worried. Italy clearly was the better team and goes through with a great upset. Germany once again fails in a major tournament especially now since they were considered the favorites. The man of the match has to be Balotelli for his efforts although the back four deserves plenty of credit.

Finals Prediction
That's marking these days apparently

Spain 2 Italy 1 Extra Time-  A risky prediction especially since Italy's back four looks rock solid and Spain is struggling to score. I think Italy will get caught on the counter at one point and it could cost them. Despite that I do think Italy is too good to be shut out so I expect Balotelli or possibly Cassano scoring. These teams are too even for this game to be finished in regular time so it will eventually go into extra time. Italy's inexperience in the back four will make a massive mistake which will lead to Spain winning their third champion in six years which is really scary to think about it. I'm rooting for Italy because I'm sick of Spain and I think most people are starting to get that feeling. Its pretty interesting that this is a Group C rematch which goes to show you what group was the true group of death. I think that can be argued especially with how good Croatia played. I'm excited for Sunday regardless even though I'm not a fan of either team. I live in an Italian neighborhood so I'm going to dread all the cars being driven around with the Italian flags. Not to mention, the Italian fan base is among the worst with most people not knowing half the players on their team. It really annoys me but that's sports for you. The bandwagon grows and grows which is the case here. I got a surprise for the game since I'm going to be with a lot of Italians. If you live in my area and if Italy wins, I'll be around for the parade but I'm going to wear something that will either make you love me more for my attitude or really hate me more.

NBA Draft Recap (East)
I'm not going to go by pick by pick instead I'll go by teams. I'm going to look into how each team filled a need and the quality of that player along with the pick they were at.

His looks are the same as his drafting decisions, a pure idiot.

Celtics (A)-  Boston had two first round picks and they were spot on with the picks. They realize that they should be settled in the back court for years to come with Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley back there. Paul Pierce might have a few years left in him so its clear to get big man. They get Jared Sullinger who won't be an all star due to restrictions in athleticism and offensive ability but he's going to be a hard nosed player. I really like this pick especially in the later part of round 1. Then they draft Fab Melo who is a project right now but Doc Rivers could bring the best out of him. I'm not crazy about the pick but Melo could really become a great center if his head is on right. Then they took another Syracuse player in Kris Joseph who is a good athlete. Joseph will be more of an energy guy off the bench with his freakish athleticism. He has serious hops but he doesn't have a good jump shot and fades out of games easily. Still a really good draft by Boston filling their needs with quality players for their bench and possible starters.

Knicks (C-)- I have been following the draft for about seven years now and other than a few top ten choices, the Knicks always seem to have limited draft picks. It was just one of those years again and they took a chance on a prospect. Kostas Papanikolaou was the pick here and I really have to question it. With possible concerns at guard position, you draft a player that plays the same position as Carmelo Anthony? I'm sure that Kostas could possibly play power forward but did you really need to take this pick? I'm not a fan of the pick but Knicks were in tough spot so I give them the benefit here. Still a very questionable pick for a team that had depth issues especially in back court.

Nets (C+) -  The Brooklyn Nets have been re invented but were put in a tough spot with just 2nd round picks. They drafted Tayshawn Taylor who is a pretty intriguing pick but I'm not sure where he'll fit. They may be looking for a possible replacement in Deron which is smart but I'm starting to think Deron will stay. Taylor is a good pick here despite his inconsistent decision making and shooting. He's a playmaker that has the ability to do everything. Then with a late 2nd round pick, they took Ilkan Karaman from Turkey. I'm not familiar with much international players but he's 6'9 that gives them more depth up front. Nets did a decent job here but I would have liked to see them take a shooting guard or even small forward. Gerald Wallace is on his last legs so that would have worked for me but not bad from Brooklyn (really awkward saying that)

76ers (C+) -  I'm a big fan of Moe Harkless coming from St.John's which is my favorite college basketball team. This isn't a good fit for him though when you look at this team. Evan Turner and Andre Iguodala are very similar players but that does bring up the question if Iguodala would be traded? Harkless is another player that can do it all but doesn't have a consistent jump shot similar to both players. I'm not sure what the 76ers were thinking here but Harkless is a gamer that will give you production. Philadelphia traded up to get Arnett Moultire in the first round who could be a game changer. He's a bit raw offensively but he brings good size and can run the floor really well. That pick could make this draft for Philadelphia. The last pick was a Euro prospect from Georgia in Tornike Shengelia who is a 6'9 tweener. I thought Lavoy Allen was a similar player to him and he's on the 76ers as well so I'm not sure. Overall this wasn't a great draft for them but they got some players to work with that have talent.

Raptors (C-)  Toronto didn't address their weak core of big men whatsoever. I'm a fan of Terence Ross but do they move DeRozan to small forward now? It was a good pick talent wise but wouldn't you want to take the chance with Drummond? He has more potential to be a superstar and could change a franchise if he works harder. Then Boston takes Quincy Acy who has shown that he's hard nosed and can play but he's undersized for a power forward. I'm not sure how he'll fit in the league but he does bring toughness to a weak team. Toronto can't go a draft without taking a European prospect but they take a Croatian which brings me joy. I don't know much about Tomislav Zubcic other than he could shoot like most Europeans and is a matchup problem with his arms. I'm still not happy with Toronto not using their picks to bring more size to a team that struggles to rebound. I know they drafted a hot shot center from Lithuania who should be good from last year but they should have done more. They didn't impress me here.

Bulls (B-) - Marquis Teague was one of my favorites around the late 1st round to early 2nd round. He plays with so much fire and got to the basket whenever he wants. This will be a helpful pick for the early part of the season but what do you do with him when Rose comes back? Chicago is a pretty deep team so they don't really have any flaws but more athleticism on the wings would be nice. Teague is going to give you good minutes though so thats why Bulls get a good grade.

Cavs (F)-  It may be harsh but I'm going to be critical here. Dan Gilbert had the tools to have a productive draft but instead he blows it up all trading three picks just to get Tyler Zeller? I like Zeller but I'm not convinced his body can handle the NBA. He's pretty frail and has problems defending physical players. You can just watch him against Thomas Robinson in the elite 8 last tournament and you'll see he has issues. The fact that they traded three picks for him is insulting. The Cavs had a top five pick and it sums up the draft. I know they drafted Tristan Thompson to be their big men last year so Thomas Robinson becomes ruled out. They take Dion Waiters who was a 6th man in college. Waiters showed he can score and dribble but how can this be justified? Harrison Barnes would have been a much better pick here. Cavs were a major let down this year in the draft and will be the biggest losers from this.

Pistons (B)-  This is a bit friendly but I like what the Pistons did here. Andre Drummond will come along eventually although it could be after leaving the Pistons. I'm not sure if this will be a good fit with Greg Monroe since their both very similar. If they can feed off each other, then it could make the Pistons competitive again. The 2nd round picks of Khris Middleton and Kim English will help the depth. Both comes from great schools that were in Top 25 all year in Missouri and Texas A & M. They both play hard nosed defense that Detroit sorely lacks and can hit three pointers They are good value picks in the 2nd round and it was a good draft overall by the Pistons that sorely needed it.

Pacers (C)-  They only had two picks but the first one was a pretty big reach. Miles Plumlee is a perennial underachiever who never fully got it right at Duke. He'll bring more depth into their big man rotation but with Hibbert, West, and Hansbrough already there. I'm not sure if they really needed to make this pick. Indiana is a well groomed team so they didn't need to really address anything but in terms of talent, they could have done much better in the 1st round. The other pick was Orlando Johnson who I never heard of but he's a guard who is mostly a shooter that could be needed coming off the bench. Indiana had some horrible spells against the Heat when they couldn't hit three pointers.

Bucks (B) -  John Henson was a really good pick here. I'm not sold on Henson as a big time player but he'll be a great role player. I would like to see him gain more weight because he's going to be pushed around in the paint area but his shot blocking ability is incredible. He's also improving his offensive game from his jump shot to post moves. He's really dedicated to improving and has a great work ethic so I think he'll come around for the Bucks. I'm not sure about the Dorion Lamb pick here though although he'll bring scoring off the bench. Lamb had some great moments at Kentucky with his scoring ability but Bucks could have used more defensive help. An athletic shooting guard or small forward would have been a great pick but the Bucks did well in the draft overall.

Hawks (C+) -  They have some clear needs and I don't think they addressed them very well. John Jenkins can score but he doesn't come across to me as a guy who can start. We all know he can shoot the lights out but his defending and being undersized really hurts. I don't see him as a first rounder and it could come back to haunt Atlanta. Mike Scott will bring good size and is a nice pick for the Hawks. He could have done more in college with his talent but underperformed in big games. He'll be a nice guy to bring off the bench so I don't have a problem with that pick. Jenkins hurts the grade by a decent amount to make it just an average draft for the Hawks.

Bobcats (C-) - I'm being very generous here and could easily trash Bobcats more. Thomas Robinson would have been the ideal pick for me but Michael Kidd- Gilchrist isn't that bad. The problem is he doesn't come off to me as a star player and he'll be put in a really tough position. He can drive to the hoop and really plays hard but his jump shot is average and he doesn't come off as a guy who can take over a game. You want that with the 2nd pick and he clearly doesn't do that compared to Robinson. He reminds me of a 3rd best player on a team when it comes to a playoff team so Charlotte still has a long way to go. Then they draft Jeff Taylor who plays the same position as him which makes no sense. He's very similar as well with great defense and is pretty athletic. Charlotte has so many needs and they really didn't address them to well in the draft. Michael Jordan continues to be a massive failure in Charlotte.

Heat (B-) -  Miami only had one mid round 2nd pick after trading down so they can't really be graded. They brought size in at least with Justin Hamilton although I haven't seen much of him from LSU. He underperformed in college but really did good in the workouts to merit a pick. If he can rebound and block shots, then he'll fit right in there with Miami.

Magic (B) -  I would have liked to see them go after a shooting guard but with the likely trade of Dwight Howard, they'll probably get one back. Andrew Nicholson is a good value pick despite not coming from a big school. He is very underrated when it comes to post moves and rebounding. He'll be a nice asset to the Magic along with Kyle O'Quinn. He's another guy that is coming from a small school but made a big name for himself in that upset win against Missouri in the 1st round. He's a bit raw offensively but he takes so much space and always seems to get every rebound. They got some good players to work with but a guard would have been nice to see in the 2nd round considering Ryan Anderson will likely stay in Orlando.

Wizards (B+) -  Bradley Beal is going to be a major player for the Wizards with John Wall. Beal is the prototypical top five pick that can do so many things from shoot, pass, and drive to the hoop. He's also a very underrated rebound and it will show in the pros. Wizards made the right pick here and nobody could complain about that. I'm not sure about the 2nd round pick of taking another guard with Tomas Satoransky. I've heard he's a major sleeper in the draft with his scoring ability and how he can really take over a game with his shooting but with Wall and Beal, where will he fit? I would have gone with a big man but still this was a great draft for Wizards.

Western Conference
He's coming for you!

Mavs (B+) - Even though they didn't have a high pick, Dallas gets a high grade for making a great trade. Is Tyler Zeller that much better than Bernard James? I don't think so and James could develop into a solid center in the league. James is already 27 though since he's gone to Iraq a few times for the army but you could see how much dedication and effort he'll put into his opportunity. I think many people are rooting for him and he's a great character pick for a Dallas team that could use some positivity. Jared Cunningham was the first pick out of the trade who resembles Russell Westbrook in a way. Cunningham won't make the transition like Westbrook but he could be similar to Jason Terry with his scoring. The last pick was Jae Crowder which is questionable despite Crowder being very good in college. Crowder was a 6'5 power forward in college as crazy as it sounds. I'm not sure how he'll fit in the league but he plays so hard and makes so many plays off broken plays that he'll always play a role on a team. Dallas doesn't have any future superstars coming from this draft but they a lot of high character players that will be needed for years to come.

Rockets (B) -  Houston was loaded coming into this draft with 3 first round picks. I thought they did a good job but could have done better. My problem with Houston is the worry that Lowry wants out and Goran Dragic is a free agent. I assume now that they'll re sign Dragic without taking a point guard. I'm not sure where Jeremy Lamb will fit but he has star potential and can score points in a six man role. Royce White is a tough hard nosed player that could fill a void at small forward with the loss of Chase Budinger. Terence Jones is my favorite pick out of the three because he has so much talent. It seemed like he was held back in Kentucky since their were so many stars but Jones has all the tools to be a force. His athleticism, rebounding, and inside scoring will get him far but he just needs to be more consistent with his decision making. Houston did a good job but I thought they would go for point guard or even some size.

Grizzles (C) -  I'm not a fan of this pick despite Wroten's talent. I'm a big fan of Mike Conley and I think Memphis didn't need a point guard this early. They needed a shooter at the swingman position after the horrendous three point shooting in the first round.

Hornets (B+) -  If they trade Eric Gordon then this draft will be better but right now its clustered. Anthony Davis was easily the first pick with no debates about it. He's one of the best defensive players I've seen coming out of a draft and has the skills to become a big time scorer in the league. He's the perfect guy to help New Orleans from the Chris Paul era. Austin Rivers is an interesting pick but the issue is that he's literally the same player as Eric Gordon. That leaves a huge mess in the back court and Rivers isn't the player that's known for passing. Rivers has a lot of potential but will go through serious growing pains. Darius Miller was the last pick and he's another shooting guard. Miller can shoot and is a very good defender but he's pretty undersized and it seems like they have too many guards. They got a high quality amount of players but Eric Gordon has to be traded to make this an effective draft.

Spurs (N/A) - The Spurs only had one pick and it was near the end of the draft. I'm not going to grade them since it was the 59th pick even though I like Marcus Demnon. I'm not sure what position he'll play in the pros but he plays with so much intensity from that Missouri system. You will get excellent defense from him and three point shooting. He'll probably end up being a shooting guard since he was never a good passer. This is a good pick though but he's a tweener right now.

Nuggets (C+) -  This was a mysterious draft for Denver who went foreign on their picks. I'm not sure how Evan Fournier will fit into the team with Aaron Affalo being an effective two guard. He could be an energy guy off the bench but isn't that Andre Miller's role? Denver doesn't have many specific needs but that was a mysterious pick. Quincy Miller is an interesting pick if he can get healthy for the season. Miller showed lots of promise in Baylor but never fully got it together. He's not going to start as long as Danilo Gallinari is at small forward but he could be another quality guy off the bench. They rounded the draft with Izzet Turkyilmaz from Turkey who gives them size but remains mysterious. Denver didn't really make much of an impact in this draft to make me impressed either that or I'm totally clueless with international players.

Timberwolves (N/A)-  Another team that can't get a grade because they only had a late 2nd round pick. They traded their first round pick for Chase Budinger which was questionable. Budinger is a good player but he'll never become an all star something that you can't say for the 18th pick of the draft. The Timberwolves ended up drafting Robbie Hummel who is considered to be a legend in Purdue. Hummel is a feel good story coming off two Torn ACL injuries and still managed to play well. He's undersized as a power forward and too slow as a small forward but he can bring instant offense from the bench with his shooting ability and offense. I never see him starting in the league but he can shoot for a guy his size.

Thunder (A-) -  It may not work out but you have to give credit to the Thunder. They took a chance on a player who has so much star potential but fell through boards due to knee issues and work ethic problems. Perry Jones III never broke out in college but you saw flashes that he can be a star in the NBA. He's coming into a situation where he won't be called upon to produce that much at first but he can step up and take command. The situation is perfect for him and Thunder might have gotten themselves another great pick from a draft.

Blazers (A-) - Blazers drafted really well after a roller coaster year with the roster. They are going to rebuild and drafting Damian Lillard was the right decision. They can get a new point guard to run the offense and grow on the fly. Raymond Felton is on the decline and you might as well start fresh with a player of Lillard's caliber. Then Portland drafts a 7 foot 1 center in Meyers Leonard who will fit right next to LaMarcus Aldridge. Leonard won't have the same expectations as Greg Oden but he'll be expected to do what every center does then provide some offense. Leonard can do that and he can form a great duo in the paint with Aldridge. Portland's last pick is a scrappy guard in Will Barton who never broke out in Memphis but can bring instant offense off the bench. Portland may struggle this year but this draft was a great step in the right direction.

Jazz ( N/A)-  Utah doesn't get a grade here because they only had a mid level 2nd round pick and I never really heard of Kevin Murphy. I'm not sure why Utah would take a power forward with the issues they have in the back court but I'm not sure what they'll find that late in the draft.

Warriors ( C+) -  I'm not sure where Golden State's mindset was after Harrison Barnes. Barnes may never be the player that he was billed up to be, but he's going to make plays offensively and he'll always have his jump shot. He needs to improve on his passing and making better decisions but Barnes won't be called upon right away to be a star. Now my problems with the Warriors is that they trade for Andrew Bogut but then draft two centers in Festus Ezeil and Ognjen Kuzmic. I don't understand the logic in that although I could see drafting once center since Bogut is so injury prone. Golden State could have used a shooting guard in the draft and really missed out. Draymond Green is a nice pick and he'll bring plenty of toughness to a weak team but I see David Lee staying in Golden State for the long run. Golden State gets an average grade because the Barnes pick is going to really help them but I don't understand taking two centers in the end.

Clippers (N/A)-  Another team that got a late round pick so they can't really be graded. Clippers got Furkan Almedir from Turkey who is a big man that could play both positions. With Kenyon Martin getting older, Reggie Evans being mostly useless, and DeAndre Jordan regressing it could be a nice pick.

Lakers (N/A)-  They only had one pick and it was the last pick of the draft. They took Robert Sacre from Gonzaga who I really like but I'm not sure why the Lakers took him when they have Bynum. Its the last pick so most likely nothing can really come of it but I just found it odd.

Kings (A)-  Sacramento only had one pick and they made it count taking Thomas Robinson. Robinson is a terrific player that is a traditional power forward. He has so many post moves and he never gives up on a play. The man is a pure work horse that hopefully can rub it off on DeMarcus Cousins. The only thing that Robinson needs to work on is simply staying within his limits. Sometimes he dribbles too much or takes a wild shot which is out of his element. He needs to stick to taking just a few dribbles to either take a hook or layup or take a jump shot. Robinson has an above average jump shot that makes him even more dynamic.

Suns (A) -  They only had one pick but they really delivered on the pick. With the likely departure of Steve Nash, the Suns were left with a major need at point guard. They filled that need with arguably the most natural point guard in Kendall Marshall. Marshall is an outstanding passer that could fill the void that Nash left. He will need to fill big shoes but I expect Marshall to be one of the best rookies out of this draft. This is a great situation for him and you got to like this pick by Phoenix. I'm interested to see how much of a scorer he'll become though because he was filled with so much talent in UNC. Phoenix will need him to score more than what UNC asked him to but so I'm really intrigued.

Underutilized Star To Unsung Legend
Best promo in my 12 years as fan (1998 to 2005- 2009 to now)

You can be the judge but we can all agree on CM Punk made wrestling fun with this epic promo. It was just last year when everyone was freaking out that Punk was leaving. I got back into wrestling in 2008 thanks to Jericho-HBK feuding and I always liked Punk for his in ring skills. His face character was pretty stale though but I'm always appreciative of great wrestlers unlike some people. Eventually Punk turned heel and I really became a huge fan when he began his straight edge movement as a heel. So I've been a major Punk fan for around two years or so which may be considered a bit late since Ring Of Honor made him a major internet star. Nevertheless I really cared for the guy because he was always the highlight of shows whether it was Raw or Smackdown right next to Jericho. Jericho left in September and Edge had to retire so it left me wondering who can step up and be that guy that is must watch. When Edge and Jericho were in the ring, they were must watch. When Punk recovered from injury in December, he was becoming the main guy for me to watch on Raw regardless if he was being buried by Randy Orton or doing some kind of shenanigans with the Nexus. The only other name I can think of that could be my main guy would be Christian is but I didn't know how WWE would push him until of course they put him in main event and won the title twice (so happy for him, I love that guy). Anyway there was going to be a huge void if Punk left the company because you were talking about the best promo cutter before the shoot and one of the top three wrestlers in the company (Christian and Daniel Bryan were other guys I considered at the time). This was a major loss and I seriously wondered who could step up to be that great vocal point I could watch on Monday nights. Instead a miracle happened and the promo was delivered. CM Punk ended up staying and carrying Raw on his back just like he was earlier in the year. Now I want to get into the top five things that I enjoyed most of that promo and this is based off what he said in terms of punch lines along with major topics that he covered.

1. I still can't get over how much he owned the McMahons and Triple H. While it was all a work in the end, I still think their was animosity with Punk and Triple H. We all know how Punk didn't have that look as a huge star which always annoys him. People like Del Rio and Miz who are good performers but were nowhere near Punk's level were getting pushed over him. He also made doofus a trendy word to say for a few weeks along with really crossing the line bringing up where the company would go if Vince died. That still makes my jaw drop to this day.

2. It was funny to see him bring real life issues into it in terms of outside the ring criteria. When he went on a rant about how fans would always bother him for an autograph and how he was barley promoted, it was pure genius. Punk would get promoted here or there for a tag match with Miz against Orton and Cena but that was it. Its pretty crazy how guys like Evan Bourne and John Morrison were in the main signature before the show started over him. It was really logic and it was crazy to see how red his face was. You could see how much passion and frustration was going into the promo.

3. I'm a Paul Heyman guy and most wrestling fans are Paul Heyman guys. When he made that term, I wanted that on a t-shirt immediately. It still hasn't happened but nevertheless to bring up Heyman was great. I know most people forgot but Heyman went on a rant about one month before the shoot. Heyman said this ""I'm sure he will get heat for me saying this, but @CMPunk is STILL the most underutilized talent on the WWE roster. And my apologies to @CMPunk for the heat he'll get, but come on already. Punk is the best heel in the biz today! WAKE THE F**K UP! It's amazing to me (and not in a good way) that WWE doesn't see how @CMPunk has brought out the best in every opponent". That stuck in my mind and I wondered if Heyman was going to ever play a part in Punk's last few weeks on Raw. When Heyman was mentioned, it was an instant mark out moment to see Punk give thanks to Heyman. I was a huge ECW fan and Paul Heyman was the master mind behind that so Heyman already had my respect for that. Other than Jim Ross, their isn't any non wrestler I have more respect to in the business than Paul Heyman.

4. This isn't a part but wearing Stone Cold shirt shows lots of class. Stone Cold actually replied to Heyman's mini rant and said agreed when it came to how Punk was underutilized. Even though Punk and Austin had their backstage segment a few weeks ago, it was great to see the straight edge villain wear an Austin shirt. It goes back to how Austin worked his tail off to get to the top and had his own moment creating the "Austin 3:16" character. The fact that he wore the Austin shirt made it even more unique and can't be forgotten.

5. This could have been even higher but the fact that he brought up how great he is was important. People were thinking of outside a few victories over Rey Mysterio at a few PPVS dating back to 2010, this guy is a loser. Punk reminded everyone why he's the best in that ring, on the mic, and even on commentary. The commentary line made me yell "yes" because who could forget that one month of Punk saying random one liners and being hilarious on commentary. He also mentioned how he's the only thing thats real which is valid because of how he isn't afraid to speak his mind. It was pretty easy thing to do but it was important to remind everyone how much different you are compared to the characters you see on TV like an arrogant character like The Miz or Mexican aristocrat like Alberto Del Rio. This was becoming real and it was smart for him to mention it.

Of course there are other great things because the whole promo was great. When he mentioned Colt Cabana, that was another "oh my god" moment but it was just mentioning his name so I couldn't make it top five. I'm a huge fan of the Art Of Wrestling podcast so when he mentioned Cabana, it was wild. Then he mentioned other wrestling companies like Ring Of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling which brought even more depth to the promo. Everything seemed to be a highlight and it really sparked up two and half months are fun. I think when October started to come around that the shoot style was starting to die down. He still had some great moments in 2011 including one really intense promo on Big Johnny about how jealous he is of Punk's success. People will always be critical of how watered down Punk is now and how things aren't the same. I understand that people are bummed out and looking back on it, I am as well because it was such a fun time to be a wrestling fan. I was staying home on Monday nights for most of the summer to watch Punk. It became must watch TV with the contract signings for his own contract and Summerslam then he had the moment with Kevin Nash. It was all great memories but the product remained PG and it was going to die down especially when the "No Confidence" storyline went absolutely nowhere. When everyone came back, it was such a disappointment that I knew things were going to go back the old criteria. I'm not mad about that because Punk is on top and still being the main star on the A show besides Cena. He's still here and he's having high quality matches on PPV's. It always bugs me when people aren't a fan of Punk's title reign because I can't think of one match that was below three stars. His title reign has been one of the best of all time despite being hindered by not having the main event slot.

It has been about one year and I still can look back to enjoy everything that happened. It could be better but when you look at things now, we got CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan happening in few weeks. This is something that so many people will watch because its two of the best colliding. We haven't gotten the ice cream bars or a new WWE title or even some friends of Punk that are excellent wrestlers to join WWE (Samoa Joe anyone?). We are getting high quality wrestling matches and that's what matters before everything. Of course you'll see many large wrestlers get pushes and some people get unfairly underutilized but the main talented wrestlers on the roster are finally getting their spotlight when it comes to wrestlers like Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler. Punk's promo still remains to be a game changer and people will still talk about it for years to come. With the 1000th RAW episode coming up and people always asking me, what was your favorite Raw moment. I'll always remember some epic matches like Edge vs Matt Hardy street fight or Chris Jericho ending the Y2J character by beating up Shawn Michaels. Many moments stick out on my mind but nothing to me tops what CM Punk did. I'm thankful for him staying because I'm not sure if I would be into wrestling like I am now if it wasn't for him. He would have left then I'd be pretty down on product but still would watch. The realness, emotion, passion, intelligence and craftiness sums up the promo that was just a small five minutes of actual speaking. I'm not speaking for everyone but I'm pretty convinced that most people would agree that CM Punk was MVP in 2011 and that people were watching Raw to see what was next. Thank you Punk!

Final Word/Plugs
This was pretty long but once again things happen like this. The NBA draft is pretty big for me as a fan so I wanted to cover it. I love to talk and I think everyone gets that by now. I'll be back Monday for a full Euro Cup review. I'm going to discuss the final and give out many of the awards. The team of the tournament, five breakout players of the tournament, top five best games, and of course top five best goals. It will be mostly that along with some ideas about future going into the summer since sports are pretty limited. I hope you enjoy your weekend and who knows maybe you'll see me in a car looking around lost if Italy wins. I'll be a part of the celebration if that happens but don't expect me to be yelling like a hooligan.

NBA Finals/Euro Cup Smash Pt 4

We are the champions, the bad guys finally won! The song doesn't go like there and I couldn't care less. The Miami Heat won the championship and finally silenced the critics. LeBron James is the best player in the world, Dwayne Wade is still my favorite athlete of all time, and Chris Bosh needs to learn how to drink in a non homophobic way (insulting my favorite's team players!). I still love Bosh and he played a big part in this series, but seriously I don't want to look at that photo again. Mario Chalmers may be inconsistent but he continues to be the annoying great point guard that made me love him. Shane Battier is everything that I expected of him when he signed so thats a positive. Mike Miller may run as fast as my 55 year old father but at least he showed up to one playoff game shooting lights out. Udonis Haslem remains to be my favorite role player of all time and I'd consider getting his jersey (alright that's pushing it, but t-shirt sounds great). Norris Cole will get a mention just because he got a flat top haircut and at least he respects the old timers.

Joel Anthony might get criticized but I always stuck by you as a quality backup. You are my 30th favorite Canadian in the world behind several wrestlers and UFC fighters along with writers and Steve Nash..Juwan Howard finally won a ring, thanks for the amazing production this season. James Jones you are still a free agent bust, but way to go! Dexter Pittman thanks for elbowing that jack*** Lance Stephenson. It may have been dirty but St.Johns' fans approve of the elbow. If you ever want to try a rear naked next time you see him, by all means do it. I'm trying to thank the entire roster. Ronnie Turiaf thanks for wearing your pompoms through out the season for the Heat but next time you may want to try taking them off when you are playing basketball. I'm trying to think of who I'm forgetting on the roster. Terrell Harris can you leave the team so the Heat can sign D.J Kennedy. That would be nice but thanks for being a part of a championship team. Last but not least, the big fella himself Eddy Curry. You have garnered the most heat from basketball fans since LeBron James did the half hour special called "The Decision" Please stay on Miami and continue to gain heat from fans. You complete the bad boy image that the Miami Heat embodies. Also Eric Spolestra who should never wear a hat backwards again. I always defended you for leading some of those average Heat teams to the playoffs before the Big Three was assembled. Thanks for coaching the bad guys even if you look like an innocent young (or old) man.

Still a kid at heart

I'll still talk about the NBA finals but I had to get that out of the way. I'm really happy the Miami Heat won the finals and got the monkey off their back. I've ordered some of the memorabilia and I'm going to savor this because when the Heat won in 2006, I didn't know how a computer worked except NFL and NBA.com. Also Eurof***fest.com was a great site, but I don't recommend for people under the age of 14. Anyway I'm here on this lovely Monday morning pretty happy and excited. The summer has been decent so far but I'm waiting for a couple of special moments. It's going to be tough to top last summer because I had a woman usually with me. Those were some good times but as usual, I become too smart or tend to lose interest after she ignores me for three weeks so it had to end abruptly. For the last time, I'm going to be only really discussing about the finals and Euro Cup. After this edition, I'll be opening to different things. I know the NBA draft is this Thursday but I'm not doing a mock draft. I'll post my thoughts on the draft on Friday to make up for it. I'm pretty good with college basketball and I'm excited for a few things. Moe Harkless will be the first St.John's player drafted in years which is pretty great to see. Miami actually has a first round pick so I pray they draft a center so Ronny Turiaf will wear those pompoms and stay on the bench proudly next season. I just have a lot to cover and I'm trying to limit my blogs a bit because I've noticed that the more I type, the less viewers. People may get turned off by so much writing constantly so I'll limit it sometimes. When I need to type, I'm going to like an NFL preview. It has to be that either that or people really hate soccer which is a good possibility. Also I want to state that I'm not discussing the Sandusky scandal. We all know he's a sicko and I bet I can make plenty of good jokes but I'm not wasting time on it. He should rot in hell and I hope someone beats the hell out of him. I'm sure the entire world agrees with me on that one. Anyway I'm going to get into it because the intro has been going for far too long.

Finals Recap/Final Thoughts On NBA
I'm the king and I said it!

The news is pretty old so I'm not going to talk about the finals that long. The reason I didn't do a post Friday was because I'm going by the Euro Cup schedule. I know that sounds wrong since I'm more of a basketball fan but it just works better. It also shocked me to see the series end so early especially with how the first three games were going. Game 5 literally shocked me because I didn't see the Thunder get completely outplayed. It seemed like the opening tip off that they look defeated and were forcing up bad shots. Russell Westbrook going 4-20 was pretty alarming considering how great he was in Game 4. He was the main factor in the Thunder collapse because Oklahoma City tends to feed off his energy. Westbrook just rushed his shots and wasn't hitting his mid range shot that was automatic in Game 4. Miami took control with a balanced attack which has been the common theme. Oklahoma City has been relying on two players for offense while Miami has gotten contributions the big three like usual but also a role payer. The first two games was Shane Battier, then it was Mario Chalmers. Game 5 was the shocking performance from Mike Miller, who still doesn't look like he can run properly. Miller has been fighting through injuries for a few years now and will never live up to that nice contract Miami gave him. It's a shame because I always saw Miller as a quality role player that can be a huge hit with his shooting. It never really got going until Game 5 where he was a huge difference maker. Miller hit 7 three pointers which is a finals single game record. Even when Oklahoma City was finally in position to put a hand up in his face, he hit the shot. It was a remarkable performance for Miller and it was great to see since I'm always a big believer in role players needing to step up. The game was at a breaking point at halftime for Oklahoma City where it became make or break. Miami put on a vintage 3rd quarter performance from the past few series with a fourteen point break through. The game was over by then with LeBron getting to the basket as usual. Perkins and Ibaka were irrelevant in this series although it was reported Perkins played with a partially torn hamstring. I'm not a Perkins fan but I respect him a lot so you have to give him credit for trying. Nobody really stepped up for the Thunder in the end with Durant only playing well when the game was competitive. Harden put up some garbage baskets in the end but he's going to be heavily criticized this off season even though he's the sixth man of the year. Miami is the rightful champion and people were eventually giving their respect to LeBron James.

I'd like to thank everyone who tweeted me to congratulate me since I'm considered one of the few long time Heat fans. Of course I got the bitter fans and this is what I'll say to them since I wasn't in the mood to speak to them. For all the people that are still bitter about LeBron James, especially Knick fans. Whoever wins the NBA finals, they'll have multiple stars and possibly three. Other than Dallas from last year, I don't think I can think of a team that didn't have three players that played at an all star level. Now the Knick fans will always be bitter about LeBron James not coming because New York is considered the best in basketball heritage. He wanted to win and what did New York have to offer him. They had Danilo Gallinari who played the same position even though I'm sure Knicks would deal him in a second if that happened. Knicks had absolutely no tools around them to make a serious plea to LeBron. They signed Amarie Stoudmire a few days before but so what. Amarie has already shown that he's a declining player after two years. Miami had Dwayne Wade who was performing as a top five player in the league. Wade won the scoring title in 2009 and came pretty close in 2010. It was clear that Wade was the true piece that would lure him to South Beach just like Bosh. So for all the bitter Knick fans, I have to tell you to get a clue again for the 400th time this season. I'm usually annoyed by Jet fans, but nothing gets on my nerve more than Knick fans.

The playoffs have officially ended and I must say this was the best playoffs in recent history. Last year had some cool moments but their weren't many long series. The playoffs had four series that went to Game 7 including Miami vs Boston which will be talked about for a long time. The conference finals were the highlight if you are just a fan of a team that didn't make the playoffs or a Knicks fan because your team can't win (friendly jab). The conference finals had so many epic games with so much twists and turns that it made twitter explode. The finals ended pretty abruptly but it still produced some high quality games. I just want to make quick ten points from the playoffs not involving the Heat.

1. Oklahoma City has a great future going forward. They have nothing to be ashamed of with their youth and growth as a team. This team will be a contender for years to come so people shouldn't be too hard on them. They will be consistently in the top two seeds of the West for years to come.

2. The interesting subplot of the playoffs has to be Derrick Rose. With the emergence of Rondo and impressive play by Paul, where does Rose rank these days? When he comes back which should be January, I expect him to be a man on a mission. It was a very unfortunate injury and it could leave Chicago playing catch up come mid season.

3. I'm not sure where Boston goes from here. Ray Allen will be gone but Rondo has become a superstar and Avery Bradley will grow into a key player. The problem with Boston is a bench and they'll need to make their 2 first round picks count. Boston isn't going away any time soon but they could possibly overhaul the roster.

4. The Spurs are the odd team out when it comes to talking about great teams. It's really odd that they went from most dominant team in the playoffs to shockingly eliminated. I expect them to be back strong next season but they'll need their young role players to grow as players. They were major let downs when they went against a great team like Oklahoma City.

5. The team that will be going through serious changes has to be the Lakers. Where do the Lakers go from here? Pau Gasol will be the most likely victim and Ramon Sessions looks to be on the way out. They have one major young centerpiece in Bynum but where can the Lakers invest? Many questions surround them and I don't have a clue what they do. All I know is I expect some major changes.

6. How about another team that will be going through serious changes. Dallas Mavericks have to get rid of a lot of there aging players. They may not be able to re sign Jason Terry either due to his demands for a big contract. They will do all they can to sign Deron Williams who can make a Dallas serious contender. Dallas will need to get some young talent as well but they can be a top four team in the West by simply getting Williams.

7. Another team that has been long forgotten after making some serous noise in Indiana. Other than Oklahoma City, their isn't a better young team with great potential than Indiana. I'm not expecting any major moves but I expect players like George and Hibbert to develop more as game changers. They have a great roster and the bench is solid as well. Its just a matter of their young players stepping up after taking the champions to almost the brink at one point.

8. The West has so many good teams and this team has the most potential to succeed or possibly head to a downfall. They don't have to make any serious moves but the Clippers need to re group. They looked bad in the playoffs even when they won. Caron Butler wasn't the impact signing that they hoped for and DeAndre Jordan was a massive disappointment. Bledsoe and Young are nice pieces but the Clippers may need to make some changes with their system. Vinny Del Negro will be on the hot seat.

9. The two other young teams in the West I'm expecting some nice things out of especially the Nuggets.  They are similar to Indiana except they play in the West which makes things harder. Gallinari, Lawson, and Faried should continue to develop but they may be one player away from being a major player in the West. Grizzles have the pieces but they need an outside shooter. The three point shooting was beyond ridiculous and it still shocks me how they didn't make it past the first round. O.J Mayo needs to go as well, he's becoming a major cancer to this team. It also wouldn't surprise me to see Randolph gone as well but at least he still has value to this team.

10. I can't leave out the Knicks because they are still an attraction thanks to their coach killing franchise player, overrated role players, and their nonsensical fans. They could make a push next season even though I'm not high on Mike Woodson. Iman Shumpert is going to be a big loss for first half of the season and it will be interesting to see if they keep Amarie Stoudmire. The positive thing is that the Knicks play in the East so they'll be in the playoffs and could make a run.

Euro Cup Recap
This was a pretty disappointing quarterfinals in terms of watching as a casual fan. I didn't see one great game that made me want to watch it again or watch twenty minutes of highlights. I actually got to watch every game even though I almost fell asleep during France vs Spain. I'm a bit letdown but  the semifinals should be able to deliver.

The legend going up against a favorite of mine in Scott Parker.

Portugal 1 Czech Republic 0-  It was a pretty dull game that seemed to rarely trouble Portugal defensively. Czechs didn't pose much of a threat even when they went on the counter. I can't remember a moment where Rui Patricio had to make a save. The Czechs deserve praise for hanging in there and really giving Portugal tough looks to force saves out of Cech. It seemed like the more the game went on, the more frustrated they were getting. Raul Miereles would blast every shot over the bar consistently and everyone had that feeling of doubt. Eventually Cristiano Ronaldo took over and continued to be a threat. I'm pretty sure that Denmark performance really angers him and now he's going to play like a mad man. He's back to making it great runs and using the step overs in a quality way. He was a force all night and eventually scored the winner off a strong header from Moutinho. Portugal clearly deserved to go through even though they may have wanted to score more to gain more confidence headed into the showdown against Spain. Then again in the knock out stages, you win in any way possible. Portugal did have an injury go down with Heider Postiga and he'll miss the semifinal game. I don't think it's a big loss since he has underperformed but with the lack of strikers, it will hurt in depth purposes. The man of the match was clearly Cristiano Ronaldo who was a threat all game. He's back on his world class form and was clearly better than anyone on the pitch.

Germany 4 Greece 2-  The biggest mis match out of the four games was still very much one sided despite the score line. Germany didn't look sharp for most in the first half when it comes to shot selection. They seemed to rush and really didn't put any good strike on the ball. It was clearly one sided with Germany attacking in the final third through out. Eventually they got on the board with Phillip Lahm well taken goal. Lahm may have joined the top five goals of the tournament with a perfect chest down then bent it in the far left corner. Lahm was a threat all night like he always is but you don't get to see enough of his shooting skills since he's left back. It was a joy to watch even though Germany clearly was holding back due to the Greek defensive wall forming. Greece was up to their usual tactics which was to defend for their lives then go on a few counters. Shockingly enough it worked and it was a great counter. Giorgio Samaras who has had an awful tournament finally scored for Greece after Sapligidis led the counter well. Sapligidis really played well despite being swarmed whenever he got the ball. He's a workhorse that never stops running and can dribble to create some space. Eventually after the goal, Germany stopped messing around and the game was over in 20 minutes. Sami Khedria made a strong cut and put a simple foot in to score a quality goal. Then the Greek goal keeper Sifakis made a horrible effort trying to go for the clear out and Miroslav Klose just had to put it easily in. He was clearly too aggressive when the defender clearly was in position to clear it out. Greece was getting torn apart the entire match and the onslaught didn't stop until Marco Reus got a well deserved goal off great ball movement. Germany showed another top quality performance and go into the semifinals full of confidence. I haven't mentioned him yet but the man of the match has to be Mesut Ozil. He was the playmaker all game and leading the attacks for Germany. He reminds me of Luka Modric in so many ways expect that he uses his left foot as his preferred foot. Ozil will always be a problem for any defense with his pace and distribution skills but he was attacking in the heart of the Greek defense and that really stood out to me.

Spain 2 France 0-  Many people including myself said that this game could be the best from the tournament. Based on all the full games I've watched, this had to be the worst. It was painful to watch with France really trying to create but eventually getting fatigued. They never seemed to look united and capable of pulling off the upset. Everyone has heard about the locker room incident with a few players and they still look very distant from each other. When the game dwindled on even when players like Samir Nasri came on, they look defeated. It was another tough game for Karim Benzema who is so talented but he never looked capable of scoring. I'm a big fan of Benzema so it was frustrating to watch and Spain just completely controlled him. This was typical Spain that scores one goal then controls possession. They looked fairly comfortable through out the game despite playing with no strikers to start the game. Jordi Alba stood out to me through out the game with his pace and finding open spots in the defense. France failed to contain him which led to a great cross to Xabi Alonso who expertly headed it down. Alonso is a true veteran and was smart to head it down because that's how most goals are scored from headers that are from a decent amount of distance. It was well taken and Spain seemed to be in cruise control. Even when France tried to bring on attacking players, they looked even worse with players like Malouda and Menez not making any sort of impact. The only attacking player that really showed anything was Frank Ribery who once again showed how hard he works and how he really improved on his dribbling. Ribery had a solid game but Spain was prepared for him and continued to double team as the game went on. Spain's midfield continues to win games for them with simple control on the ball and always being able to track back defensively. It's a great method and they looked to be back in form after an average performance against Croatia. The man of the match has to be Xabi Alonso with his two goals and his constant harassment of French midfielders. Alonso is moving into that Michael Ballack role as one of the best defensive midfielders that can be an offensive figure just like he is defensively.

Italy 0 (4) England 0 (2)-  It was safe to say my prediction of a midfield struggle wasn't really on point along with the score. Italy clearly out played England but simply couldn't get that shot to go in. It was an impressive performance by Italy who looked confident on the ball and created chance after chance. Andrea Pirlo continues to show that age doesn't matter with his command of the midfield. He still provides quality passes whenever he's asked upon to make them. It was a struggle to watch though since I was supporting England and I didn't think they would be this out classed. England had some great moments to score like Glen Johnson who should have scored in that part of the box. Then Danny Welbeck who was lost the entire game missed his only good chance of the game. It was a constant struggle with England when trying to attack. Rooney never looked to be in shape and Ashley Young had a terrible tournament. Italy had to be let down that it couldn't be finished in regular time because the chances went begging. Danielle De Rossi nearly had goal of the tournament with a volley from thirty yards out that struck the post. It was struck perfectly but it had to be denied by the wood work. Mario Balotelli looked lively through out but he also had some bad misses including taking too long on a break away before being stopped by John Terry. England's defensive really deserves credit because they cleared out so many crosses and near goals. John Terry may not be the nicest guy you've ever met but he's an absolute workhorse and truly loves his country. He had a great tournament along with Joelon Lescott. I think England may seriously consider keeping this two going forward until injury happens or a really bad run of form. They really work well together and made a formidable duo. As the game wore on, penalties always seemed likely and it eventually happened. England always looked likely to lose with their history and it happened again. Ashley Young hit the cross bar and Ashley Cole took one of the worst penalties I've ever seen. He clearly showed where he was going and Buffon easily caught it. It was a lame attempt and Italy got the winner. Andrea Pirlo was man of the match but he'll also win most creative penalty by chipping it down the middle. Pirlo is a true Italian legend and today was the game that will always cement his legacy.

Semifinals Prediction
Face palm!

Spain 1 Portugal 0-  I'll be missing this game due to work but I look forward to seeing full highlights. This game is a rematch from the round of 16 at the World Cup and I'm sure the rivalry still is strong. I just can't see Portugal scoring with Spain defending Ronaldo just like defending Nani. It will be up to players like Nani and Raul "please stop shooting it to Row Z every time" Miereles to make an impact. Hugo Almeida will likely start and will have to make the most of his chances. Spain will probably control the game and get that one goal which they can sit on. The game will have lots of fancy dribbling and passing but shooting may be limited. This game will end in regular time.

Germany 2 Italy 1-  I'll be able to watch this game and it should be a great one. Germany is the last team left that I was actually rooting for. I think Italy will give them more problems than people realize. Italy seems to be in a groove and Pirlo will love the fact that Scheweinsteiger will likely be out. He still has to deal with Sami Khedria which will be a problem but this will be a great show down. Germany's defense has a few cracks especially Jerome Boateng who was poor against Greece and the reason for two goals. Italy could make him a target which could lead to a goal. I'm still going to pick Germany though because they'll test that inexperienced back four of Italy. It could be more but I think Buffon will make some top quality saves. This will also end in regular time to start up a rematch from Euro 2008.

Final Word/Plugs
I'm really going to miss basketball since it's my 2nd sport. I'm sure I'll be discussing basketball during the summer with free agency and trades. It will only be happening if something major happens after the first day. I'll probably do something before free agency where the team needs are and who they should possibly sign. I need something to talk about in July other than life, wrestling, and UFC. I'm going to talk about the draft Friday and who are the winners/losers. I'm not going to be watching the draft live but I'll probably tweet some thoughts. It won't be a long post but I'll probably recap each team rather than each pick. Its much easier and far more productive so look out for that. I'll also recap the semi finals of the Euro Cup then give a pretty massive preview of the finals. The last thing I'll cover Friday is the one year anniversary of the CM Punk shoot. I know I haven't covered much wrestling lately and I have a decent amount of readers that love wrestling. I'm a huge fan as well and I promise to talk more about coming up. Don't worry I'm not going to be covering soccer like this during the year. I'm a fan of the English Premiership League but I'll only talk about it on occasion along with World Cup qualifying. I plan on getting into more wrestling including Friday looking back on CM Punk shoot promo. It was the coolest moment ever being a fan of the business where I knew it was a work and it wasn't real to me. It was real to me when I was 5 and the attitude era was in full force. Everyone knows how many epic moments with Stone Cold, The Rock, Undertaker, Mick Foley, Kurt Angle, and the list goes on. In terms of being a fan knowing how things work and being an intelligent fan, Punk's promo was the greatest thing I've witnessed and it made Punk one of my active favorites to one of my all time favorites. I'll talk more about it Friday but I'm excited to watch it again because its six minutes of pure genius and emotion. That's all for now so I wish you all the rest of the week. I'll be back Friday with all the great stuff in the sports world where baseball is irrelevant!

NBA Finals/ Euro Cup Smash Pt 3

This is the only edition I'll be doing this week so I'm bringing it even better today. I would assume that you guys probably realize I'm pretty devastated from the Croatia loss. Even though I predicted it perfectly, if you saw the way that team played it was incredible. I'll get back to that when time comes later on in this edition, but that game really put a hurting on me. I'm doing better and now trying to look at positivity because why should I really be ashamed at the team? Other than 1st half of Italy, they played five excellent halves out of six in this tournament. Luck wasn't on their side and you can't be ashamed of great effort. Its just disappointment but I'm healing soon enough. It also helps when your favorite basketball team is in the NBA finals. Many good things are still going on in the future so I'm really excited for whats to come.

I'm still keeping the usual topics like you have read the past two editions. I'll be keeping this trend until the NBA finals ends. Then the Euro Cup will end and I'll be in a sports depression until August where football buzz in the air. I'll still have UFC and wrestling to watch but still I'll miss all this excitement. I don't have anything to rant about or really talk about. I'll give you the links at the bottom if you want to check out my experiences at No Way Out and Raw. I went to both shows and I wrote two mini reviews about them on wrestlingsmarks.com. I love being there live so even through bad segments, I found joy in them. I wore my Edge & Christian shirt at No Way Out which got so many high fives from strangers which was great. Then I wore my Daniel Bryan shirt which is very popular with the smart crowd. I'll post the links later on because I have a lot to get into for the Euro Cup which I'm still heavily interested in despite the heart break. I'm going to go through the last batch of group stage games then I'll preview and predict the quarterfinals. I'll also talk about the five best games so far and post youtube videos of the best five goals as long as I can find them. These will legit picks so don't worry it won't be filled with all Croatia. I'm not doing breakout players or best players of the tournament until its all over. I want to see more players step up going into the knock out stages.

Before I get into all the sports, I just want to post a video of my favorite person on the radio Peter Rosenberg. Rosenberg has gotten some heat like you've probably heard if either listen to Hot 97 or read the blog. He has been going at it with Young Money mainly Nicki Minaj but now Lil Wayne has gotten into the discussion. Lil Wayne recently said that he should respect women, yes Lil Wayne said someone should respect women. I don't think I need to say anymore than to just post this video. Even for Wayne's fans out there, I think you all know that Wayne should never speak about respecting a woman if you ever listen to those glorious lyrics he likes to say about women. It's a short clip but heres just another reason why Rosenberg is the best thing on the radio since Howard Stern.

Game, set, and match

Recap
Before I recap the last batch of Euro Cup games, I want to give one shout out. Some people may hate him but you have to respect him. When I heard Michael Ballack was going to be an analyst for the Euro Cup, I was so excited. You may know this already, but the Germans are considered brothers to the Croatians. I do like the Germans a lot and I'm always rooting for them. Ballack was a terrific player to watch because even as a defensive midfielder, he was a great playmaker. Overall Ballack is a terrific analyst and I'm happy that he's there to save my ears from hearing Alexi Lalas for the entire time. Lalas is a complete fool that I'd consider the Chris Collinsworth of the soccer world.

Well done Ballack!

Czech Republic 1 Poland 0-  I only saw few highlights of this game so I can't really make much an assumption on this. Most people were watching Russia vs Greece like me so I can't really judge much. Poland seemed to be in control the first half but couldn't break through. The Czechs are very mysterious mainly because I haven't seen them play once and they don't have many stars. I'm impressed by a few breakout players for the Czechs mainly Valcav Pilar who has developed into a pest to defenders and capable of getting past defenders with his speed. Petr Jiracek is the other breakout performer with another goal in the tournament off a great counter. Poland looked like more of the threatening team but they got caught and that cost them a spot in the knockout stages. Czechs somehow win the group despite a negative goal differential. The man of the match was Pilar according to many but I can't make a fair assessment. I'm sad to see Poland being eliminated because they were a joy to watch at times.

Greece 1 Russia 0-  I watched the full game and it was vintage Greece. They somehow score on a mistake and then the Greek wall rise up to defend the goal with eight men. It was pretty frustrating to watch because I enjoy watching Russia play and they really moved the ball well in the first half. When things were getting desperate, Russia started to move away from their smooth passing to find the open player and started to send long balls to the box. It was frustrating to watch Greece go through because they were completely dominated on the ball but that all changed in the mid 2nd half. Russia was very fortunate that they didn't call a penalty when Karagounis got fouled in the box. It was an easy penalty call yet the ref decided to book Karagounis for a dive. It was a ridiculous call and it made me neutral after that game. When Greece went through, it was well deserved because they defended really well and should have had a penalty. I'll miss watching Russia because players like Arshavin are so fun to watch when dribbling in the central midfield and Alan Dzagoev breaking out in the tournament as a future star. Russia will be missed but Greece deserves credit for going through. The man of the match has to be Karagounis who scored the winning goal right before halftime. It was a botched header by Russia that Karagounis pounced on to score on a tough angle. He'll be missed in a big way in quarterfinals against Germany. Karagounis is a classic central midfielder that will attempt any tackle, lead the counter attack, and most importantly being a great captain.

Portugal 2 Holland 1-  The game had high expectations but I personally felt a bit let down as a fan looking for an epic game. Portugal clearly showed they were superior despite the close scoreboard. They controlled most of the game and their defense didn't look like a bunch of clueless eighteen year olds. They were an organized side that could have scored more if it wasn't for Stekelenburg making some great saves. Holland's back four looked slow, disorganized, and very weak. They were losing balls in dangerous areas constantly and were getting beat several times on the ball. Even when they were winning, I wasn't too sure about Holland. Arjen Robben actually passed the ball which is a bit of a shocker in this tournament with the way he has played. Rafael Van Der Vaart scored a terrific goal with the perfect bend to get in the bottom corner. I'm a huge Spurs fan so it was great seeing him on the score sheet. The rest was all history and Portugal really controlled the game. Ronaldo was on his world class form and he was setting up chances everywhere. He was unlucky not to score a hat trick and Portugal should have won by more. They got great games out of Miguel Veloso and Nani who were outstanding. Portugal looked like a team that can make a serious push to the finals while Netherlands looked like a dysfunctional team that couldn't win a game. Even when Holland created chances, you saw Huntelaar and Van Perisie miss great chances badly. It wasn't Holland's time this year and they are easily the biggest disappointments of the tournament. The man of the match is clearly Ronaldo for his two goals and really dominated the midfield like he is capable of.

Germany 2 Denmark 1-  I got some decent highlights from this game and it made me want to watch it. I don't have all the time in the world to watch full games and it stinks that these last batch of games were on at the same time. You will have to cope with some small reviews especially from this one. Germany pulls off the complete sweep of the group of death even through nerve racking moments. They looked mostly in control but Denmark had a few moments where they looked like they were going to pull the upset. The goal that was scored off the corner kick was impressive with Bendtner using his great size to win the ball in the air to assist to Krohn- Diehl for the finish. The Danes fought really hard and even stuck the post at one point with Poulsen nearly scoring on a great strike. You have to give it up for Denmark because they never laid down in any of the three games. They were battling all through out the tournament and they deserve major praise despite the lack of star power. They didn't even get much from their huge blue chip prospect in Christian Eriksen. It was a team effort and they caught my eye. Germany is the better team though and they showed it even though they weren't firing on all cylinders. Muller and Gomez really didn't get going even though Muller is credited for the assist to Podolski even though Denmark did a poor job marking. That should have been easily cleared out then on the second goal it was just a classic Germany counter attack with the goal credited to Lars Bender who got the start over the suspended Jerome Boateng. Germany continues to roll through and the main man of the match once again goes to Bastian Schweinsteiger. He was setting up Germany's chances and he started up the infamous Germany counter attacks. He's been phenomenal all tournament which shouldn't surprise anyone.

Italy 2 Ireland 0-  Another game that I clearly didn't get to see due to Croatia vs Spain. Ireland had no business being in this tournament in terms of quality. I know they won their playoff round but they beat a lucky Estonia team. I'm happy they made it through but they were the only team in the Euro Cup that looked like a complete joke. They battle hard but they were completely out matched. Other than Keith Andrews shot who was one of the few players that stepped up in the tournament, Ireland didn't create many chances. Italy looked dominant all game and it was a team effort for the win. I'm not sure who wins man of the match because the highlights were limited but I'm happy for Cassano that he scored. After going through heart surgery, its great to see Cassano score since he's so talented. It hurt Croatia's chances of course and I was pissed to see him score at first but he's a very talented player so congrats to him. Italy needed a game like this where the entire team is playing well and they got it.

Spain 1 Croatia 0-  I'm going to try to keep this limited as possible because I don't want to get on a rant here. It was a very emotional game as a fan and I couldn't be more proud as a Croatian. They took the world champions to the limit of elimination in this game. If you would have told me that after Croatia lost 2-0 to Greece, that they would take Italy to the limit I would have told you to get out of my face. Instead Croatia came into this game with a defensive mindset and it really worked. They held Spain to zero clear cut chances in first half and Pletikosa didn't really need to make any tough saves. It was a pretty boring first half if you watched it as a casual fan but for Croatia, it was brilliant. Eventually in the 2nd half, Croatia had to open up because Italy took the lead so this is where games got interesting. Croatia started getting possession after being dominated most of the 1st half. They started to make some runs led by Luka Modric who was once again spectacular. Modric has played a terrific tournament and continues to show how much of a world class player he is. He made some great runs splitting the Spanish defense then made the cross of a life time of his weaker foot. Ivan Rakitic was in perfect position to be the hero but his header was saved by Casillas. It was a miss that is still fried in my mind because it was the chance that Croatia needed to take. It would have given Croatia so much optimism but the miss ended up to be just a bad memory. Croatia had one other good opportunity but Ivan Perisic didn't really make Iker Casillas move from a nicely hit volley. Croatia kept pushing on while Spain still weren't hitting their stride. Goran Schildenfield and Vedran Corluka played outstanding in the back the entire game with Spain's through balls going nowhere. The entire starting eleven deserves a huge round of applause for frustrating the world champions that much. Now the theories of possible miss calls, I'll touch on quickly. I do think Spain's goal was on side as Iniesta just made his perfect. My argument is that it should have been a handball because he clearly was using his left arm to chest down the chipped ball. How that wasn't a handball was ridiculous but at that point, I was losing hope so it didn't make me go crazy. The few near penalty calls with Corluka being held in the box and Mandzukic getting taken out by Sergio Ramos are legit cases. I think they should have been penalties and the ref blew it but at the end of the day, Croatia really should have won this with that Rakitic chance. When I look back on this game, I'll be proud of Croatia but the Rakitic miss will forever haunt me. The referees were poor without a doubt and the fix could possibly be in but I'm not going to put much of my thought into it. The man of the match is tough because both teams had their stars but I'll go with Xavi. Luka Modric makes an excellent case but Xavi set up the goal and he had great moments controlling the midfield especially in the first half. I'm still bitter about the loss but I'm a happy Croatia fan because they truly put their heart out there and they gained back the respect they lost after not qualifying for World Cup in 2010.

Sweden 2 France 0-  I didn't see the full game but the highlights I saw were pretty good. This was a pretty shocking result considering Sweden had nothing to play for and France seemed to have some momentum. France just looked life less throughout the game and even when they got in the box, they never really threatened Isaksson other than a few times from Ribery. The offense wasn't clicking that well mainly because of how great the Sweden is. Olof Melberg was dominant frustrating Benzema among others where they were going to force France to take shots outside the box. It was a good strategy along with going on the counter after France would push all out to get a goal. Sweden were a bit unlucky going on because they forced some good saves out of Lloris. Eventually the goal came from none other than Zlatan Ibrahimovic who scored the goal of the tournament so far with a flying axe kick in the bottom corner. You had a feeling that Ibrahimovic was going to score at some point with his skill and the quality of it shouldn't surprise anyone. France pushed on to get a point but they never looked like it was going to happen. The chances were mostly half chances until late on when Grioud should have done better on a corner kick after not being marked. It was a frustrating game for France which ended with a mental lapse with Sebastian Larsson scoring off a rebound that should have been cleared out. Sweden pulls the upset despite being eliminated already but you have to give it up to them. They took it to a very good France team even when eliminated so well done to them. The man of the match is Olof Melberg because he led that back four and it was Melberg clearing out the crosses or marshaling crosses out of the box. He may be a 33 year old past his prime center back but he brought his A game against France.

England 1 Ukraine 0-  Even though the game had plenty to play for, it was the most boring game I've watched in the tournament. It seemed like both teams were doing their best to just cancel each other out.  Both teams struggled to create much in the first half although Wayne Rooney should have put that free header in. Ukraine somehow forgot about him but Rooney scuffed the ball with his head to the opposite direction. It was a tough first half for both teams but I knew Ukraine was going to come out stronger in attack. They had some good moments in the first half but Joe Hart was rarely tested. England scored first though with a complete whiff by Pyatov who has been solid in the tournament. It was an easy cross to gather but it evaded his hands and Rooney was right there to put it in the header. Ukraine tested Joe Hart after that with a few long distance shots including one nerving moment when Lescott barley cleared out a possible rebound. Lescott and Terry were strong all game for the most part. They seem to have the chemistry down and have become a formidable duo. Now the controversy of the game was that Marko Devic should have scored after England got beat on the counter. It's no argument that the ball crossed the line without a doubt. Nobody could deny that but how can anyone besides Ukrainians be upset about the call. If any team was going to catch a break, it was going to be England after 2010. Everyone knows the infamous Frank Lampard goal that was ruled out despite clearly crossing the line against Germany. Even though I do support England, this is a valid reason that England deserved to catch a break despite it crossing the line. Now do I think the goal technology needs to be installed? Of course it has to be installed, this is the 2nd major tournament this has happened. This is pretty embarrassing from a referees standpoint but if any team deserved the break it was England. Ukraine deserves plenty of credit for playing hard in the tournament. They weren't the push overs that everyone thought they were going to be. It was a well fought effort and we should see more of them in World Cup qualifying because they are in the same group as England. The man of the match is tough to pick out for me because John Terry deserves a lot of credit for saving that goal even if it went over the line. Joelon Lescott also deserves praise for his dominant performance but I'm going with Terry because he put in a top notch performance. I personally don't like Terry and most people I know can't stand Terry, but on the pitch he works his tail off and you feel confident when he's in the back.

Quarterfinal Predictions
The quarterfinals seem a little weak but that doesn't surprise me considering how weak Group A. Instead of the likes of Russia (should have went through), Holland, Croatia, or Sweden we get Czech Republic in it and Greece. Sometimes things just aren't fair and we move on. Before I get into, I just want to clarify my predictions. The only matchup I got right was Greece vs Germany which is still pretty good. I nailed the Spain and Italy picks but that was ruined when France decided not to show up against Sweden. France was my pick to win the group but now roles have reversed. Portugal and Czech Republic were the only teams that I didn't pick so eight out of ten is a solid job from me. It's going better than my NBA predictions!

World Cup 2006 memories

Portugal 3 Czech Republic 1-  This is a rematch from Euro 2008 from group stage when Portugal won as well. I can't see the Czechs really winning this game but they'll be a pest through out the game. They run around a lot and can cause problems in the central midfield. Czechs have some players that have broken out in this tournament like Thomas Necid and Petr Jiracek who can cause problems. I think they'll score a garbage goal that Portugal is used to giving up that should have been cleared out but I expect Portugal to roll through. Ronaldo seems to be on form and they seem to be growing more confidence.

Germany 3 Greece 0-  I actually got a game right going into the quarterfinals from my original predication before the tournament. I'm also keeping the same score despite Greece putting eight in the back probably. They'll likely be playing to go into penalties but it won't work with how good the Germans are. They'll miss Karagounis who is suspended after the awful yellow card he was given against Russia. I still can't believe UEFA still hasn't overruled that call (those clowns). Greece will be pleased to make this far but it'll be all over against Germany.

Spain 1 (4) France 1 (3)-  The shocker pick right here is that this game will be going to penalties. This game is so even to call that I think it will be doomed to go to penalties. I'm not a fan of the shoot outs but their always seems to be at least one. Spain has Iker Casillas so that immediately gives them the edge for the win. This will be the best game of quarterfinals but it will end in a harsh way.

England 1 Italy 0-  I'm really excited for this game don't get me wrong but this has a chance to be really boring. Both teams play more defensive and tend to be scrappy. I know Italy has loosed things up but England does a great job in defense to keep teams from getting any shots in the box. This game will be a bit tough to watch but with highly populated fan bases, people will love it. I'm going with the England win which might be upset and it might make me a little bitter picking against Italy. Chilleni might be out and I think England will be a problem with their speed late in games. Also Italy doesn't have the speed to really give problems to a strong England back four. I could be easily wrong but I think Italy's too young to beat a veteran England side.

Top Five Games
I'm doing top five games to go along with the end of the group stage because their has been some epic games. Of course by the end of the tournament it will change because the drama and intensity will be even higher. I'm still going to choose the best five from group stage during this great Euro Cup with no 0-0 games being played which is great to see. The games have been very loose and full of offense which makes this an excellent tournament so far. This will be in numbered order because I put some serious thought into this and it should be put into order since games have certain amounts of quality.

Four & half star classic

1. Portugal 3 Denmark 2-  This game really picked up after a dull 30 minutes. Denmark coming back really caught me by surprise because Portugal's defense looked so good against Germany. The Danes are considered an offensively challenged team that win games by effort and keeping teams scoreless. It was shocking to see how they set up that first goal then Bendtner getting picked out again for the 2nd goal. Then who can forget the Cristiano Ronaldo blooper reel with the worst miss of the tournament. He had a rough game but his teammates were picked up all around. Nani had a solid game along with Veloso and Pepe standing out. The winner was shocking to see coming from Varela who had to spin around just to get the shot off. It had so much power on it that it somehow got through and it was crucial win for Portugal. The game had everyone talking and it was a great response from Portugal after the improbable comeback from Denmark. After playing each other once in the last five years dating back to World Cup qualifying, Portugal finally beat them.

2. England 3 Sweden 2-  Another high scoring game filled with different twists and turns. It was a pretty dull first half with Andy Carroll scoring the only goal thanks to a great cross by Stephen Gerrard. The 2nd half things finally picked up since Sweden realized that a loss would have them eliminated. They scored a few minutes after the break with a set piece on a broken play. It was a scrappy goal by Sweden with Glen Johnson being credited with the own goal. It wasn't really Johnson's fault because he hustled but he was in the wrong position. The 2nd goal should have been cleared by England but Lescott lost Melberg on a high free kick for the goal. England's back four was breaking down at the worst moment and they needed reinforcements. Theo Walcott came on and the entire game changed. Sweden's old back four couldn't handle his pace and he immediately became a threat. Eventually it showed on the goal sheet with a nice goal that was aided through Sweden's defense blocking the goalie's vision. Walcott is credited with the goal but it should have been saved. He continued to be a problem on the wing and eventually set up the winner to Danny Welbeck who scored a terrific back heel goal. It was a clever finish to put England ahead. Sweden never backed down though and gave England problems the entire 2nd half testing Joe Hart consistently. It was a great comeback by England but it lacked the late minute goal to make it truly better. A weak first half didn't help the cause either but still this game was really fun to watch and deserves the spot.

3, Germany 2 Holland 1-  I'm sure people may question this game but it had plenty of exciting moments. Germany mostly controlled the game but Holland had their moments of excellence. Both teams were considered favorites going into the tournament. Obviously everything changed with Holland crashing out of the tournament but this game was enjoyable just for the stars and how Holland came back in 2nd half. Germany may have controlled most of the game but Holland never backed down and it made for a great game.

4. Spain 1 Italy 1-   It may have ended in a tie but this game was so back and forth that you believed Italy could pull off the upset. Italy never really played too defensive and they looked confident on the ball. Cassano looked like a major threat and Spain didn't seem to create many dangerous chances. It was mostly half chances until the last 25 minutes where Italy seemed to tire out. The goals weren't anything spectacular but it was great passing from Andrea Pirlo and David Silva from their respective teams. This was the first game that made me felt that the tournament truly began. It was a fantastic game where a winner could have easily happened. Spain seemed more likely in the end but Fernando Torres continued to show his poor form.

5. Croatia 1 Italy 1-  The chances weren't coming that consistently for either team but the drama of the game was intense. You saw two teams really battling for a win after Italy dominated the first half. Croatia really started pushing Italy to the limit especially after that Mario Mandzukic goal. Italy looked off balance in 2nd half even though they forced a few nerve racking free kicks in the end. People were really buzzing over the game on how tight it was even though both teams really wanted those 3 points to give them the edge going into the last game of group stage. It may have been mostly Italy domination in the first half but the 2nd half had people all across the world talking which made up for some great action on the pitch.

Top Five Goals
I'm mostly just going to post the best goals in my particular order. I'm not going to do a huge summary on it, you get the idea about how great the goals are. It was hard to judge how I'm going to order this but eventually the consensus was made up. The videos will be here for you see so you can judge.

1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic against France

2. Danny Welbeck against Sweden

3. Mario Balotelli against Ireland

4. Jakub Blaszczykowski against Russia

5. Rafael Van Der Vaart against Portugal

NBA Finals- The Bad Guys Will Win
Shoot the arrows

The finals have gone from a possible seven game classic to a quick finish that has caught everyone by surprise. The Heat may very well win the finals tonight and I'll celebrate like any true fan would. I'll drink a lot although I'm not going to shed tears. I was telling people this since they know how passionate I am about sports. Unlike the Falcons, Croatia, or St.John's basketball this is a team that is supposed to win everything. This isn't an underdog story or a team that was in the mix to win it then just got hot. Miami is a team that was built to win championships so I'm not going to get on my knees and say finally. This finals victory will be something to keep the haters shut and for LeBron James to finally have his finals moment. Also Eddy Curry because we know how hard he works (too easy). The Heat winning the finals will be a sigh of relief but it will be still great because this is the first championship I can see a team of mine win since 2006. I've witnessed great moments like the Falcons being the number one seed in 2010 or St.John's making to the NCCA tournament for the first time in nine years, but nothing is better than winning a championship. I'm well aware that the series isn't over yet and Thunder just need one win to go back to their home turf. Still I'm very confident and who can blame me? The bad guys are about to win and the world is going to go crazy.

I got to see the replay on Monday of Game 3 after missing it. It wasn't a pretty game to watch with several misses by both teams. Miami shot just 37% from the field and 30% from the three point line. They won by out rebounding the Thunder by seven which is shocking considering how big the Thunder are. Oklahoma City just shot 62 precent from the free throw line while Miami shot 88 percent. Oklahoma City simply lost their edge at the end when the jump shots weren't falling. The league realizes that they are a jump shooting team and when they go 4-18 from three point range, it will be difficult to win. I was a little shocked to see Serge "worst trash talker in recent memory" Ibaka only play 22 minutes. For some reason, the Thunder love Derek Fisher and with Miami playing small ball that lead to Oklahoma City playing the same way. Fisher wasn't really effective shooting 3-8 and having a minus 9 in the score margin of when he's on the court. I'm not sure why he played that much along with James Harden who was terrible. He shot 2-10 and continues to be a liability defensively. Harden shows plenty of effort but his shot selection is terrible at times. It was amazing how Miami's starters played nearly the entire game. I don't think will ever see someone shoot 1-8 yet play 40 minutes still ever again after Mario Chalmers did it. I have no idea why Chalmers was on the court because he was hurting the team all night. I would have liked to see Haslem get more playing time but Miami seemed comfortable to stick with the system. LeBron James continued to have a great series and showed no signs of slowing up. He got to the hoop at will during major parts of the game while Dwayne Wade made his timely great plays even though he struggled with his shot going 8-22. It was turning into a two on two game with both teams since Harden was struggling and Bosh was shooting 3-12. Despite Durant's great shooting night going 11-19, Oklahoma City didn't have enough in the end when Durant was closely guarded. Durant took just one shot in the final two minutes which shouldn't happen. You don't want Russell Westbrook taking wild threes to try to win the game. Miami escaped an ugly game that even I was happy to stop watching. It wasn't a good game in terms of quality but the stars shined tonight but the league MVP was the one that shined the most.

I got to see most of Game 4 live although I missed a bit of the 3rd quarter. The game was once again down to the wire like everyone mostly expected. Now people criticize the Heat for playing individual basketball yet who is the team that only had two guys in double figures? Who is the team that went 3 for 16 from three point range? I don't get how Miami garners so much criticism yet they showed once again that they can play team basketball. They move the ball around either when LeBron gets double teamed or Wade penetrates which led to ten three pointers. The breakout performer was Mario Chalmers who rebounded from a dreadful Game 3. Even though he had a rough start to the game and shot only 3-9 from three point range, he made huge baskets with his floater. When you're a point guard, you always want to develop that shot because you see shot blockers always floating around ready to block a lay up. If you develop a floater or a tear drop (however you want to call it), it makes things much easier. Chalmers hit that shot consistently in Game 4 and it played a huge part in Miami's success. As the game wore on, it turned into the Miami Heat vs the Oklahoma City Westbrooks. Russell Westbrook completely took this game over scoring 43 points and scoring at will. The shocking part about Westbrook is that he didn't make any threes and only made three free throws. He was simply making mid range jumpers and scoring layups. It was becoming a massive problem even though Oklahoma City had nobody step up other than Durant. Harden shot 2-10 again and Serge Ibaka played just 22 minutes as neither men really stepped up to give Westbrook some help. Durant played his usual great game with 28 points and he didn't fail to deliver, it was just impact on the defensive end was minimal. You would expect far more than two rebounds from a guy his size that usually gets a decent amount of rebounds. The ending was pretty dramatic with LeBron James going down with cramps. It was pretty scary moment mainly because if he's out, then this series really goes down the tube for Heat fans. Instead he got up and hit a three right in Durant's face much to the delight of the haters (sarcasm). Oklahoma City simply couldn't hit shots at the end especially when Westbrook was getting extra attention. It got to the point where Sefolosha had to take a three pointer that was way off. Miami pulled through in the end to take a pivotal 3-1 lead and look ready to win the championship. I'm not ruling out Oklahoma City but they need other guys to step up and people need to start hitting threes. They can't rely on two superstars to carry them through the game because when it becomes crunch time, they begin to command all the attention and the role players can't step up. I thought this would have been Miami's problem but the role players have really stepped up since Bosh's injury in Indiana series. If Miami continues the defensive intensity and the stars keep playing team basketball, then it will be over Thursday. If Wade and James each could have 25 to 27 points with consistent shooting from the field then Thursday will be a day to remember. From Miami's perspective, you don't want to go back to Oklahoma City regardless if your up. They need to wrap it up at home Thursday just to avoid any momentum loss because this is still a very dangerous Thunder team.

Mini Reviews
Here are the links from No Way Out and Raw that I wrote for because I was live. It's not long and its mostly broken down into positives and negatives.

Final Word/Plugs
I know this was very long and some people don't like reading long, so I apologize. So many things needed to be covered so hopefully I can limit more next time. I personally don't mind typing this much but I know some people would like things shorter. I'll do my best going forward but I hope you enjoyed this because so many interesting things going on in the Euro Cup along with the NBA Finals. I'm enjoying it until July 1st when it all ends and I have to hear people talk about basketball weekly. Maybe if CM Punk does another shoot promo, people will start talking about it. Next Wednesday is the one year anniversary of the CM Punk shoot promo and it was also the day where I truly really got back into wrestling. Sure I watched it and read dirt sheets about certain guys but I wasn't paying to really to events or going all out. When Punk did that promo, it was like things are fun again and one of my favorites is finally getting the push that he deserves. It also makes me wonder if he didn't re sign and if I would be watching right now. That's a big 50/50 decision because Jericho left in 2010 then Edge retired in early 2011 but then you have Punk leave and it really hits hard. Those three guys are guys that can carry a show and can keep my interest at any point. I'm happy I'm watching it though and I'll definitely talk about it some time next week. I think when the Finals end would be good so sometime at the end of next week. I'm planning to a new edition either Monday or Tuesday so I can cover the new NBA champions Miami Heat (I'm going to love it) and preview semifinals of Euro Cup. So during Friday after the semifinals are done, I'm going to discuss the infamous Punk promo that had so many people talking even ESPN was covering. It was that big and it was a great angle for about three months until WWE decided to kill it which was a terrible decision but I knew it was too good to last with the whole PG criteria. That's it for Friday though, next Monday or Tuesday I'm sticking with the same Euro Cup and NBA finals talk. Hopefully the Heat can win tonight and we get some more epic games in the Euros. I hope you enjoyed this, talk to you guys later.
